Say no to Bowl

When you come across starting aquarium or fish pot in less space or small place we usually think about bowl. In pets shops generally bowl of 4 to 12 inches are available. They give you decor like colour stone and a plant in worst case an air pump with small size sponge filter or air ball. This practice in fish keeping is the worst activity.

Reason behind to boycott the bowl I will give below:

1.      Space: - bowl has very less and fish will not able to live there properly.

2.      Cycling: - In Bowl you will not able cycle the water and increase the good bacteria

3.      Siphoning: - Water exchange is not at all possible task.

4.      Filtration: - filtration and aeration if added the water of the bowl they are meaningless and create big pressure and will not help fish to stay.

5.      Mucus: - Mucous created by gold and koi carp fish will make water untidy and create ammonia spike.

6.      Durability: - It is easy to break its made of 2 mm glass if miss handle can break easily. 

7.      Ethics: - It is very cruel for fish to keep in such setup.

                There will be lot of arguments I can face for the Bowls keeping some will say about livelihood and some will say about betta is best kept in bowl. Even about me in my initial days of my business i have kept fishes in bowl. After the worst outcome and realization we have stopped the selling of bowl from our E-store and Retail outlets.

So i conclude this blog say no to bowl.
